I'm very excited to get this 2017-2018 school year underway. We've got a lot of great things planned, but I also look forward to seeing what ideas the kids have to bring to make our year even better.
Weekly Newsletter
The Monday night homework is to review the newsletter with your kiddo. Be sure to set aside time to read and discuss the newsletter and "Homework Central" with your Merlin. We post new information every week.
Volunteering
I wanted to send this first, quick newsletter to let you know there is now a volunteer sign up for a host of things, please see our Sign Up link. Not all of the volunteer opportunities require school day commitments.
Family Visits
I thoroughly enjoyed each and every family visit. How fortunate am I to work with your child! Feel free to send along any communication, wants or needs that weren't addressed in the visit. I'll be using the first few weeks to assess students for when we meet to discuss goals in October. I really appreciate the team effort and mentality of FGCS.
If your child wasn't able to have a Family Visit, I look forward to seeing them! Here's the Cheat Sheet and Year at Glance that we went over in the visit.
Family Photo
On the wall I have a "Merlin Class Family" photo collage. Your child is welcome to bring in some photos of their family to add.
Meet Kailey I am very excited to introduce Kailey, our student teacher this year. She will be a great addition to the Level 3 team!
Hi! My name is Kailey Estevez and I will be the Merlins student-teacher this year. I am a Forest Grove High School graduate and have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from St. Lawrence University. I am currently working on my Master’s degree in teaching from Pacific University. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, playing softball, and writing realistic fiction. I am really looking forward to this upcoming school year and I am so excited to be working with Gretchen and the Merlin students!
Best,
Gretchen
