Monday PE | Tuesday Bridging | Wednesday Field Day--I would recommend sending along extra food. Bring a water bottle, too! |
I also wanted to thank you all for your support and letting me into your lives. I enjoy each time I hear a story or see an "ah-ha" moment. I love learning right along with your child and having my mistakes pointed out. :)
As a class we've talked a bit about ways to keep our brain engaged over the summer. Please look for the packet coming home this week--if I can't get this put together in time, I will send out blank copies of what we discussed in class later this week. Although summer is an important time for us all, if you have any questions or concerns I really am just email away. Feel free to email me and I will do my best to respond in a timely manner.
- Student Belongings/Lost & Found: Please help your students bring home any personal belongings they have had at school (jackets, rain boots, etc.). Be sure to check Lost & Found in the Level 1 hallway. All unclaimed items will be donated or discarded by next Friday, June 16.
- Student Medications: If your student has medications on file at school, please be sure to pick these up no later than 4 p.m. Weds., June 14. See Vickie or Kari in the main office.
- The last day of school (Wednesday, June 14) is a full school day. Level 1 will dismiss at 3:05 p.m., Levels 2, 3 & 4 at 3:20 p.m. If you need to pick up a student early, please call the office at 503-359-4600 to notify us in advance and come into the office to sign the student out.
- Our annual Bridging Ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 13in Taylor-Meade Auditorium at Pacific University. This ceremony honors students in 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th grade who are 'bridging' to the next grade level at FGCS or graduating to high school. Click here to view a campus map. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. Please allow extra time to park nearby and walk to the auditorium. The ceremony will last approximately 90 minutes. Parents may take students home immediately after the ceremony if they wish but they must check out directly with classroom teachers so teachers know that students are departing.
- Our annual Field Day will take place on Wednesday, June 14, the last day of school at Lincoln Park 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Activities are spread out between shelters 1 and 2, near the play structure/dirt bike area. We will eat lunch at the park. All students will be offered a pizza lunch. Students who ordered school lunch will (in addition to pizza) be offered a sack lunch. Students may also bring food from home if they prefer. Parents are welcome to join us at Field Day. Students will return to school by about1:30 p.m. Again, parents are welcome to take students home early if they need to, but please check in directly with teachers so we keep track of where everyone is!
